Design and size
The Wagon stands out with its four-wheel design. One person can move it easily around the garden. This mobility helps you rotate grazing areas, protect your lawn and give your chickens fresh ground to explore. The coop sits 15 cm off the ground, high enough to avoid damp conditions but still easily accessible for the birds.
Externally, the Wagon measures 102 cm wide, 132 cm tall and 120 cm deep (excluding the ramp). Inside, you will find three wooden perches, each 69 cm long, and two spacious nest boxes with roll-away inserts to keep eggs clean. The coop comfortably holds up to 6 large hens or 12 bantams, following generous space recommendations. Personally, I feel Nestera has struck a very sensible balance here between flock size and bird welfare.
Materials and durability
Like other Nestera models, the Wagon uses 9 mm-thick recycled plastic. This material offers excellent durability and needs no maintenance beyond simple cleaning. The plastic is UV-resistant, waterproof and will not rot or warp, even in tough British weather.

Ventilation
The ventilation design is excellent. Permanent airflow under the front roof keeps fresh air moving. Adjustable rear vents allow further control without exposing birds to draughts. The plastic shell also helps regulate temperature. In winter, inside temperatures stay close to the outdoor air, but chickens stay warm thanks to their natural feathers. During summer, the UV-resistant roof reflects heat, keeping the coop cool.
Cleaning access
Cleaning is one area where the Wagon really excels. The full-height front door gives excellent access to the interior. You can also remove the roof in seconds for a full deep clean. The smooth plastic surfaces can be hosed down or pressure washed without risk of damage. Optional droppings trays are available, though some owners have found they do not fit perfectly. Even so, cleaning takes less than 10 minutes. From my own perspective, ease of cleaning is one of the standout benefits that sets Nestera coops apart.

Safety and predator protection
It is essential that chicken coops have predator protection. The Wagon does this extremely well. Its thick recycled plastic resists chewing. The ventilation holes are small enough to stop foxes and rodents getting in. The front door includes a reinforced sliding metal panel that locks securely. You can also lock the rear door for extra safety. No coop is fully red mite-proof, but this design leaves very few hiding places. Controlling mites is far easier here than in wooden alternatives.
Assembly
Most people find assembly straightforward using the provided instructions. That said, some owners report that fitting the roof sections takes extra time and physical effort. A few customers faced minor fitting issues with doors or trays, but Nestera’s customer service responded quickly and solved these problems. I’ve found that their after-sales support is very good, which gives extra confidence in the product.
Portability
